Bizen Ware Bamboo-Shaped Flower Vase

₱850.00
Style: One of Japan's "Six Ancient Kilns," Bizen ware is famous for its "wabi-sabi" aesthetic—rustic, unglazed, and naturally imperfect.
Design: It mimics a segment of a bamboo stalk, complete with a central "node." The small hole in the center is a functional design choice typical of certain Japanese flower vessels (hanaire), allowing for a single branch or flower to be positioned precisely for Ikebana (flower arranging).
Surface Effects: The varied colors (dark browns to reddish hues) are not glazes but "kiln effects" (yohen) caused by ash and flame patterns during a high-heat, wood-fired process that can last up to two weeks.
Top View: The thick walls and slightly irregular rim seen in your top view are hallmarks of handmade stoneware.
